¡Hola!
Wow. Oviedo, Spain. I do not feel prepared, either in basic Spanish or in knowing what Spain holds. Reading through some provided material, I learned English is the most popular foreign language, then French. I suspect the language will be overwhelming for a few weeks at least, but then hopefully I’ll catch on. The emergency number is 112 and there will be an English speaker available to assist non-Spanish speakers in event of an emergency. Whew.
I expect Oviedo to be rainy often. I’m almost positive it will be more humid than I’m used to. Hopefully adapting will not be difficult. I am worried I will bring the wrong things or entirely forget something(s). But then, what is bringing money good for?
I am scared of living with a host family. I’m afraid of not being able to communicate. Living at home this short time has shown I’m used to living on my own. I do not think this will be much of a problem. I am very excited to get a good feel of Spanish culture through the host family. I hope to learn to cook a dish which I can bring back and share.
